Research & Reference

Staff is available during normal library hours to assist users in locating library materials and performing web and database searches. Faculty members can request literature searches via our online research request form.

Circulation

Circulating materials can be checked out for a two week period. These items may be renewed for an additional two weeks as long as there is not a waiting list.

Items are considered “overdue” the day following the due date. Fines are calculated for each day the library is open and borrowing privileges are suspended until fines are paid.

After five weeks, a charge for the replacement value of items, plus fines accrued, is placed on the borrower's student record. Until all fines are paid, student transcripts or grades will not be released.

Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery

If we don't have a particular journal or book, we'll find someone who does. Our electronic network of borrowing and lending partners is nationwide, and we do most of our business by fax and email when possible.

Loansome Doc® instant ordering of articles from PubMed searches is available to WSCN staff and students. See the Loansome Doc® info and registration pages or contact the Library staff.

Reserve

WSCN Faculty members can place items on Reserve in the library. These items will be scanned and available through Ed-tek. The library also keeps a copy of each textbook on reserve in the library office. Staff will hold student IDs while students use these materials. These materials may not leave the Library without permission.
