Position: HIM Director

In Fall of 2008, the College will begin educating upper division Health Informatics professionals.

The HIM Director will be responsible for organization, administration, program development, curriculum development, program evaluation and all other aspects of the HIM program.

The personal and professional traits of the successful candidate should include:

  1. Commitment to the mission and spirit of the College
  2. Master’s degree in a related field, Doctorate preferred
  3. Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA certified), including active membership in AHIMA
  4. Experience and proven ability in program and curriculum development
  5. Proven experience in student and faculty recruitment
  6. Ability to develop strong relationships with the health care, corporate and legal communities who have a vested interest in health informatics

Position: Nursing Faculty
Full-time
Medical/Surgical Pediatric and Obstetrics Specialties
West Suburban College of Nursing

Faculty positions are available in the specialty areas of Medical-Surgical and Pediatrics and Obstetrics. For these positions, Masters degree in nursing required, doctorate preferred. Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Illinois. Experience in teaching in a nursing program required. Academic Support Specialist – Nursing

The primary responsibility of this position is tutoring students in the fundamental academic skills of the nursing process. The tutoring will occur in person with individuals or small groups. At times, the Specialist will conduct in class presentations or academic skill reviews.

Bachelor’s degree in nursing required. Master’s degree preferred. A candidate with experience with academic tutoring or teaching would be preferred.

Technical Support Specialist

The Technical Support Specialist supports administrators, faculty, students, and staff in their use of information technologies. The responsibilities include:

  • Technical support to administrative offices, staff and students
  • Providing training to users
  • Set up, configure, and deliver equipment
  • Test and maintain applications software
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and peripherals
  • Ability to determine and coordinate software solutions
  • Ability to develop and write instructional applications documentation and guides for users
Candidates for this position should meet these qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related fields
  • Prefer 2 to 3 years of experience which includes direct customer support, software and hardware support
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
