MEN IN NURSING
So, you want to be a nurse, huh? Are you sure? Come on! Nursing is a woman’s profession. What would your buddies say? If they were on top of the news in the employment market they would know that the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts one-million openings for nurses between now and the year 2010. Not only is there a shortage of nurses and high demand, but increased retirement during these years is sure to create more of a demand.
Yeah, but are they accepting men into the profession? You bet! Men are increasingly joining the ranks of these highly respected and qualified medical professionals. With a degree in nursing, your career paths are numerous. Nursing is a diversified field, offering specialties in psychiatric nursing, medical-surgical and other fields, such as administration and education. Many nurses go on to become certified in a number of specialties.
So, what do I do now? You can call us at 708-763-6530 and ask for more information or make an appointment with an admissions counselor. Also, feel free to email us at admissions@wscn.edu. It doesn’t cost anything and the benefits are well worth your small time investment.
So, what will your buddies say? When they see the respect, prestige and income you are earning, they won’t say much of anything except, how do I become a nurse?
