Quality Projects (Action Projects) – Retired

Retired Projects

  • CREATE AN INSTITUTIONAL ASSESSMENT SYSTEM FOR THE COLLEGE STRATEGIC PLAN. A new 3 year strategic plan has been completed. An institutional assessment system that is related to the strategic plan goals and benchmarks has been created. Process and outcome measures have been defined to support smoother operations of the College. All business processes and outcomes for the College have been included. Information related to strategic decision making will be provided for all constituents.
  • REFINE THE EXISTING ASSESSMENT, REMEDIATION, AND STUDENT SUPPORT SYSTEMS TO IMPROVE STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES. Assessing student utilization of current support services and satisfaction with faculty/student counseling is an initial step in the process to design more effective outcomes for all stakeholders. The next step involves maximizing student use of existing programs and determining additional needs. Faculty have completed the selection of a new student testing and remediation packing. The ATI system will be implemented in the Summer of 2005. Student success will increase the number, diversity and NCLEX-RN pass rates of graduates.
  • DEVELOP AND REFINE STRATEGIC ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT (SEM) IN SUPPORT OF THE COLLEGE. Develop a comprehensive process to stabilize enrollments, link the academic program and SEM, stabilize finances, optimize campus resources, improve services, improve quality, improve access to information, reduce vulnerability to environmental forces, and evaluate strategies and tactics. We have created a growth plan, developed policies and procedures, and business practices for specific enrollment management areas, refined the new student orientation program to include family members for the August 2005 session. We also developed a financial aid award process which includes the distribution of funds from Federal Work Study and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) programs. We are participating in an Illinois grant funded project to implement the Course Applicability System (CAS). By participating in CAS, the College will allow students to conduct their own transcript evaluation utilizing our degree audit system.
